Finally ate at G2B. Food was tasty, but pricey. And the overall design is bizarre. Very modern, lovely insides. And then the logo designed by a 12-year-old girl. And the staff wearing flower power shirts.
Worst.website.EVER. Seriously, an intro page? Are we partying like it's 1999?
I don't judge service too harshly in the first few weeks of opening, but I felt like our server was terrified of us. I mean, yes, it was probably hard to get a word in edgewise, but be strong! And they were obsessed with clearing things...to the point where I was afraid to go to the bathroom.
I liked their beer selection (I had a tasty Unibroue - Ephemere). Shotgun Betty on tap, yum! They had more local selections on their menu than you see on the website.
We started with their wings, which were tasty enough, but really, not so much with the crispy. I like my skin very crispy, and it was mostly mushy.
I had the beef sirloin, with avocado chimichurri and garlic mashed potatoes. It was pretty much perfect.
Since I work near G2B, I'm pretty disappointed they aren't doing lunch right now, but then again, I wasn't going to get a $13 burger for lunch. I do hope they come up with some more...sharing oriented appetizers, so that we can stop by for drinks after work.
Still, my plan is to go again, checking out the burger this time and seeing how it holds up to Geer St Garden and BCBB.
