Inspired by (and using) the tutorial from
Choose to Thrive, I made tin stars this weekend! Instead of doing the traditional 5-point star, I did a 6-point, Star of David. I think I'm going to have to adjust my template, to try and get the 3D star a little fuller.
I also used the base of a disposable cookie sheet, that, to flatten out more, I busted out my rolling pin and went to town. And, instead of using a pen and ruler to outline, I used a leftover stylus from a phone. Worked like a charm, not to mention, was very helpful with flipping the edges over the ruler.
I used a lovely metallic blue paint, with an off white, and kind of layered and wiped until I was happy. I then did the edges in orange glitter, because I'm not happy if I haven't spread glitter around my house.
I then used some 28g wire and made little loopies to make the stars dangle and to make an ornament hook.

You really can't see what I'm doing, but you can see my incredibly tidy work area.
Stop laughing. |

More layers of paint. Also an example of my foil covered cookie sheets
I use to pretend like I'm corralling my projects. |
