How Do You Read Blogs?

For a long time, I would create vast bookmark lists, and try and keep up on blogs that way.  It never really worked for me, as inevitably, I would get sick or busy, fall behind, and never feel like I could catch up, so I would just stop reading.

I don't know why I resisted an RSS reader for so long.  Probably because really, I'm an ornery cuss.  But I kind of stumbled into Google Reader in the last few months and man, do I feel like an idiot for not using something before now.  It totally suits my reading style (fast and dirty), and I can keep up no matter where I'm reading (work, home, visiting folks, whatevs).  Also, it means I can keep up with more than the 300 you're limited to using the blogspot dashboard (which also just didn't work for me).

If you are a hearty blog enthusiast, how do you keep up on everything?

And if you have a blog without an RSS feed: seriously, don't do that.  I'm never going to email subscribe.  Ever.  Give me a RSS feed or google friend connect.  Don't be the one bottle that won't fit in the fridge.  Wine I will tape to something and figure out, a blog I want to try and keep up with? Not so much.

  2. Hmmm, do you use feedburner for your feeds? Because you can go to http://feedburner.google.com and see how many people do stuff with your feed. Clicks, etc. I think blogger defaults to that, so you probably do. You would just have to use your google login to get in there.

  10. Happy Monday!

Thanks for following my blog . . . I'm following you back!

As time goes by, my Google Reader has way too many items . . . that is how I used to keep track. Maybe I will go back to it, but it gets overwhelming at times.

What I've been doing is keeping up through the blog hops. I visit those I follow through the list and try to follow new people on each blog hop I participate in.

Have an awesome week Alicia . . . Gina

check out my profile for a complete listing of all my blogs :)
